Canadian Boat Shows Signs Boatdealers.ca As Official Boat Listing Service of the 2012 Toronto and Vancouver Boat Shows

TORONTO: October 13, 2011 – Canadian Boats Shows announced today that it has appointed Boatdealers.ca as the Official Boat Listing Service of the 2012 Toronto and Vancouver International Boat Shows (TIBS & VIBS). This partnership will provide the TIBS and VIBS websites with a boat-listing showroom of boats on display at the show. These showrooms will be powered by Boatdealers.ca and deliver additional value to all manufacturers and dealers exhibiting at TIBS and VIBS. The listings will also be displayed on Boatdealers.ca.

"We’ve seen significant growth in the number of consumers pre-planning their show visits, combined with an extended post-show decision process. They want information about specific boat models on display, and this feature will offer considerable value before, during and after the show. The landing page will also promote the Discover Boating national contest aimed at encouraging new boaters to become a part of the exciting world of recreational boating. Terry brings over 30 years experience in the boating industry which will be a key asset as DEM looks to grow its Boatdealers.ca market share.

Terry has a wealth of global experience including sales and brokerage in the United States, Bahamas, Canada, and Europe. In addition, his experience includes; representing custom and semi-custom yacht builders, creating the London and Hamilton Boat Shows, establishing CMAC (Canadian Marine Acceptance Corporation), the first marine based software and F&I company, and teaching the Marine Technology (computerization of marine operations) program at Georgian College.

New Media Company Formed to Operate Boatdealers.ca & Other Digital Media Channels

DEM is focused on creating digital media channels to be accessed by PC & mobile devices via internet. Each channel will be a vertical market segment supported by its advertisers in those respective industries. They will be taking over production of Boatdealers.ca which has been run privately by DEM’s President & CEO, Chris Perera.

Chris Perera founded Boatdealers.ca in 2001, which has grown to serve millions of Canadian boating consumers. He has a background in sales, marketing, and software development. DEM’s current team also consists of members focused on marketing, sales, support, and software development.
